Black creators have played an important role in shaping the culture on YouTube. From fashion and comedy to politics, learning and wellness, Black creators have propelled our platform forward.
In 2020, we announced the #YouTubeBlack Voices Fund, which was created to directly support Black creators and artists so that they can thrive on YouTube. Last year, we announced our first class of 133 creators and artists from around the world. It included musicians, beauty entrepreneurs, comedians, activists, poets, personal trainers and more. These creators went on to hit subscriber milestones, pursue new businesses and lead meaningful discussions related to Black life and culture.
Over the next year, we’ll work closely with these creators, offering them dedicated partner support, seed funding invested into the development of their channels, and participation in an intensive development program that will focus on training in production, community engagement and wellbeing, followed by ongoing workshops and networking programs.
The #YouTubeBlack community is filled with so many talented, brilliant, passionate, and driven creatives, and we’re honored to equip these awesome creators and artists with additional resources to match their drive.
