How the Olympic Games Paris 2024 played out on YouTube

With the Olympic Games Paris 2024 officially behind us, let’s take a look and see how Paris 2024 played out on YouTube, including on official broadcasters’ channels and the official Olympics channel. 

We worked with official broadcasting partners (like NBCUniversalEurosportClaro Sports and CazéTV), to create a comprehensive viewing experience for fans all over the world with thousands of hours of official Olympics content, highlights and replays of all the action across 32 Olympic sports. 

During Paris 2024, YouTube viewers watched more than 40B minutes (over 650M hours) of Olympics content, including on the official Olympics YouTube channel and official broadcasters YouTube channels.

Official broadcasters and the IOC also brought more than 30 top YouTube creators to Paris, including Rick Azas (Eurosport), Liza Baez (Claro Sports), Haley KalilCarter KenchKristy Scott (NBCUniversal), and Sydney Morgan,Ian BoggsRJ Karishma (IOC) so you could experience Paris 2024 through the lens of some of your favorite creators.

Just like Tokyo, you responded to all the Paris 2024 content on YouTube by showing up in a huge way. Let’s take a closer look: 

During Paris 20241, YouTube viewers watched more than 40B minutes (over 650M hours) of Olympics content, including on the official Olympics YouTube channel and official broadcasters YouTube channels. We also saw that this content had over 12B views on YouTube, and over 850M unique viewers watched Olympics content on YouTube. The Official Olympics YouTube Channel even gained over 1.1M subscribers during Paris 2024. 

It was also clear that people loved watching the Olympics on YouTube from their connected TVs. During Paris 2024, more than 18B minutes of Olympics content was watched in the Living Room, with more than 35% of watchtime happening in the Living Room. Over 180M unique viewers streamed Olympics content in the Living Room during Paris 2024, with 1.9B views of Olympics content just in the Living Room.
