Top 7 moments from the First NBA Creator Cup

The first-ever NBA Creator Cup showcased real skills and a healthy dose of competition from creators on the In-Season Tournament championship court.

It all came down to the final moments in overtime. Two teams, each driven, intense and hustling to earn a W on the NBA In-Season Tournament championship court. A free throw. A swish. A buzzer.  A one-point game and the winner was…YouTube creators?

During the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament in Las Vegas, the league brought together a wide-ranging group of 12 creators from across hoop culture to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the NBA’s newest marquee event. The first-ever NBA Creator Cup showcased real skills and a healthy dose of competition from creators on the In-Season Tournament championship court. 

Kris London coached The Hoopers, a  team made up of creators, YPK Raye, Tristan Jass, Jesser, Brawadis, Bionic Brooks, and Bree Green.

They went up against coach Chris Matthews (aka LethalShooter) and The Ballers team, which included Jeremy Jones, Jenna Bandy, Marcelas Howard, Carson Roney  and Nolan from Strictly BBall.

Here are 7 can’t miss highlights from the game.

#1 Early on, Jesser shook off his defender with a killer fake, scoring some much-needed points for the Hoopers. 

#2 Not to be outdone, Bionic Brooks delivered an emphatic two-handed jam.

#3 In a block that could be heard from the rafters, YPK Raye soared in to send this shot back!

#4 After a close miss from teammate Tristan Jass, Bionic Brooks came through with the putback. 

#5 Tristan Jass impressed with his smooth moves and represented throughout for the Hoopers.

#6 And we can’t forget this iconic up-and-under bucket from Jesser!

#7 Ultimately, the Hoopers came out on top, winning 87-86 in overtime. Here’s what Coach Kristopher London had to say about it.

The Creator Cup truly was an action-packed, first-of-its-kind event for basketball and YouTube fans alike.
