New Insights and Research destinations help you understand past video performance and discover outlier videos to spark your next piece of content. If you have a draft ready, Studio’s new feedback feature gives personalized advice on pacing, structure, storytelling, and more. You can even generate channel-matched thumbnails or use dynamic thumbnails to have YouTube recommend the best of three options to different segments of your audience.

This builds on the incredible success we've seen with other Studio tools like A/B testing, where creators have run more than 40 million experiments to find the perfect titles and thumbnails for their videos since the feature officially launched in 2024. Coming soon, you’ll also be able to test up to three video cuts to see which hook performs best with the new video A/B testing feature.

Ask Studio can even run in the background to review your older videos to suggest and test refreshed thumbnails, helping classic content reach new audiences.

A conversational editing partner

Earlier this year, we brought Gemini Omni's intelligence straight into Shorts and the YouTube Create app, and in August 2026 alone, hundreds of thousands of channels used it per day. That pace aligns with findings from our first-ever GenAI trends report, which revealed 72% of U.S. video posters ages 14-44 have already used AI to help them create or edit in the past year. We’re taking this momentum a step further by integrating Gemini into a new conversational editing assistant for both Shorts and the YouTube Create app.

This editing tool handles tedious tasks, letting you focus on the fun parts of storytelling. Start with suggested prompts or your own for a first draft. Continue chatting and get personalized suggestions to reorder frames, trim and sync music to the beat, and more. You can bounce back and forth between this creative partner and manually editing your timeline, making iterative tweaks until your video is perfect.

Expanding protections

Managing a growing community takes time, and every channel has its own distinct vibe. To help set the tone that's right for you, we’re testing opt-in AI-powered comment moderation. When enabled, this feature learns your unique moderation style and needs over time, shaping a comment section that reflects your community while freeing you up to focus on creating.

Billions of channels are eligible to sign up for automated deepfake detection on YouTube, and can control their visual likeness through our likeness detection tool. But likeness is not just the way you look, it's also the way you sound. Later this year, we’ll start integrating speaking voice detection with facial detection to improve overall match accuracy, laying the groundwork for broader voice protections over time. We'll also make likeness detection accessible directly in the YouTube mobile app so creators can set up, review, and act on the go.
