As we close out another year of discovering new music and rewinding classic hits, we’re back to celebrate the sounds that soundtracked your entire year. Starting today, music fans can jump into their 2023 Recap page on the YouTube Music app and scroll through to see their personalized stats (top artists, songs, moods, genres, albums, playlists and more) from this year. We’re also excited to announce that we’ve brought this full experience to the YouTube app, where you’ll see a dedicated Recap page featuring the same stats and insights available on YouTube Music. Along with bringing this experience to the YouTube app, we’ve also launched several new features to help you relive your year in sound.

Introducing custom album art
Your music experience is as unique as you are, so we wanted to customize artwork that captures YOU. Pulling from your top track, energy score, and top moods from this year, we’ll blend a collection of colors, vibes, and visuals to match an aesthetic that speaks to your year in music. If you were an album, this would be the cover.
Matching your mood with your music
Music has a special way of expressing your feelings even when you can’t. Now you can take a journey through your feels with our new feature matching your mood to your top songs throughout the year. It’s the feel good vibes you got every time you heard Lil’ Durk and J. Cole on “All My Life.” Maybe it’s that ex you keep thinking about courtesy of SZA’s “Kill Bill.” Tap into to see the top moods that defined your 2023.
Pair your favorite Google Photos memories to your top songs
Last year, we introduced shareable cards highlighting your top songs from each season which you could personalize by adding your own images directly from Google Photos on the YouTube Music app. It was the perfect blend of music and memory, a nostalgic trip through your year. With 2023 Recap, you can now shuffle and customize the photos yourself to create your own unique visual celebrating your year.
Throughout 2023, you hung out with your favorite artists in your living room. You joined their live performance on your commute. You watched them rehearse, play in arenas, tiny desks and everything in between. From first dates to breakups, from big wins to small let downs, music was always there.
