Today, we released our 2024 U.S. Impact Report highlighting YouTube’s contributions to the creator economy and the impact of the creators themselves. The findings, supported by research from Oxford Economics, show YouTube’s creative ecosystem contributed $55 billion (USD) to the U.S. GDP in 2024, supporting the equivalent of 490,000 full-time jobs in the U.S.

These numbers set a new benchmark, reflecting the continued growth of the creator economy. The report also shows that creators are using the money they make on YouTube to generate income, build businesses, hire employees – and of course make fantastic content.

As a result, YouTube is a vibrant platform for millions of businesses and content creators to connect with Americans and the world.

Looking at this momentum and toward the next two decades, the creator economy is just getting started. We’re excited to see what our next 20 years have in store.”

Two Decades of Shared Impact on YouTube

When we share more with creators, they share more with the world. Since the YouTube Partner Program launched in 2007, we’ve committed to building and fostering a creative ecosystem where creators can share their voice and thrive doing so. Between 2021 and 2023, YouTube paid more than $70 billion to creators, artists and media companies – and we continue to unlock ways more for creators to make money and grow their business on YouTube.
