Here in Los Angeles, I am constantly inspired by the city’s vibrant creative energy. It’s the engine that powers so much of what the world loves to watch, and we see that spirit every day in the YouTube creators who call this city home. They’ve built channels, businesses, and entire careers here—turning their passion for storytelling into content that reaches a truly global audience.
But we also know that our creators don’t do this alone. The magic of Los Angeles lies in its rich ecosystem of creative talent. The people who support our creators and their growing businesses are a vital part of the YouTube family: the editors, writers, costume teams, and countless other professionals who make up the backbone of the creative industry.
The January fires were devastating, and the road to recovery is long for so many. As my family and I are among those who lost a home, I know firsthand the challenges our community is facing. Many in our YouTube family have been directly impacted, losing not just their homes, but their studios, equipment, and the dedicated spaces where they bring their ideas to life. That’s why we feel a deep responsibility to continue our support.
As part of our commitment to the city from this past January, we’re announcing that $3 million will go toward a fund supporting creative professionals in Los Angeles who have been impacted by the fires.
Today, as part of our commitment to the city from this past January, we’re announcing that $3 million will go toward a fund supporting creative professionals in Los Angeles who have been impacted by the fires. These funds will extend to members within our own community: the YouTube creators who have lost their homes or whose homes have been damaged by the fires. And we’re also extending this support to the broader creative industry. Specifically, this fund is also for performing arts and entertainment professionals in LA who have experienced the loss of their home or damage to their property, regardless of whether they create on YouTube.
This broader commitment signifies our belief that when a city’s creative heart is strong, we all benefit. We’re honored to be part of this community, and we’ll continue to stand with you in the weeks and months ahead.
For more information on eligibility and how to apply, please see more at the Entertainment Community Fund.
Editor's note: YouTube is partnering with the Entertainment Community Fund to distribute these funds to eligible professionals in the LA creative community. The Entertainment Community Fund is a national organization that assists professionals working in theater, film, television, radio, music and dance whether on stage or on camera, behind the scenes or below the line.
