Getting into the game with YouTube’s sports communities

Between today and August 11, you’ll find five unique twists on the YouTube logo representing the gymnastics, running, table tennis, golf, and wrestling communities.

The best of the best from around the world are gathered to tumble, serve, and sprint their way to gold in Paris. On YouTube, we’re prepping for the finals by celebrating the ways these sports and their creator communities show up year-round online.

Between today and August 11, you’ll find five unique twists on the YouTube logo (known as the Yoodle) representing the gymnastics, running, table tennis, golf, and wrestling communities.

These individual sports, some of which get little mainstream coverage year-round, are especially compelling in the hands of creators. From pro competitors to hobbyists, athletes are using their channels to build a new world of sports entertainment. Their mix of comedic sketches, challenges, and advanced trick shots invite anyone to become a fan, even if you’ve never picked up a paddle, stepped into the ring, hit the track, or, well, you get the picture.

Take in all the moves, behind-the-scenes content, and more in the playlists linked above. Then, watch the latest episode of Like & Describe, to see how five athletes — runner Alexis Black, wrestler Cayden Henschel, gymnast Peng Peng Lee, wrestler Grand Horvat, and ping pong player Emil Rantatulkkila of Pongfinity — are using their channels to put a fresh lens on each of their sports.
