So far this year, there have been more than 500K uploads of videos related to Cake Decorating.
Over the past few years, “is it real or cake” turned into a household phrase, the concert of the year was remade as a sweet, edible phenomenon, and vintage twists on the classic wedding cake became new celebratory go-tos. At the heart of all these trends is YouTube’s community of cake decorators, who are turning their tasty works of art into must-see entertainment.
Their videos aren’t just intended for aspiring cake decorators, though they certainly spur plenty of ideas. The community uses cake as an unexpected medium for storytelling, from humorous sketches to pop culture recreations, with some ASMR in the mix for good measure. So far this year, there have been more than 500K uploads of videos related to Cake Decorating.1
