Back in 2006, a group of teachers working abroad just wanted a better way to use music to help kids learn. They posted a few videos to a brand-new platform called YouTube, and parents quickly caught on. By 2015, the team set up their own studio in Toronto—choosing to self-fund, so they could keep creative control and build an in-house team of over 40 animators, musicians, puppeteers, and educators.

Now, parents and teachers from all over the world rely on these videos every single day for language development, movement, and emotional learning. Skyship is even working directly with researchers and educators, including an ongoing project with Oxford University Press in Spain, to dive deeper into exactly how music shapes early learning. 2

Skyship has taken their YouTube success, and expanded into live tours, consumer products, and a dedicated app. As they celebrate their 20th anniversary, they have plans to release a celebration song, share a fun studio tour with Caitie as the tour guide, drop a limited edition vinyl album, and create an exclusive experience for kids on the Super Simple App.

“It started with teachers in one school writing simple songs to help their students learn English and now it's such a big part of so many kids' lives all over the world.”

- Morghan Fortier, Skyship Entertainment CEO

"It's incredible to look back on 20 years of Super Simple Songs!," says Skyship Entertainment CEO, Morghan Fortier. "It started with teachers in one school writing simple songs to help their students learn English and now it's such a big part of so many kids' lives all over the world. Our team of animators, artists, composers, musicians, puppeteers, educators, and producers has really worked hard to keep the original intention of Super Simple Songs in mind as we've expanded. I'm enormously grateful to them, and to the families and educators who have welcomed us into their homes and classrooms - not to mention YouTube for all their support and encouragement over the past 20 years. Thank you all so much!"
