Milestone Meetups with Susan: Joshua Weissman

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki speaks with chef and creator Joshua Weissman in the latest episode of Milestone Meetups.

That’s what I love about YouTube. I can be like, ‘These are techniques that I spent my entire life learning, and I’m just literally going to give it to you for free.’”

Joshua Weissman started cooking with his mom when he was 3 years old, made dinner for his parents at 10, and began creating instructional cooking videos on YouTube in high school.

After his channel passed 5 million subscribers, the California native spoke with YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki in the latest episode of Milestone Meetups. They discussed Joshua’s journey from line cook to full-time creator, his bestselling cookbook “an unapologetic cookbook,” and the difficulty of perfecting homemade Japanese Soufflé pancakes.

In his videos, Joshua makes every dish from scratch, teaching viewers proper techniques so they can cook great food at home. “That’s what I love about YouTube,” he said. “I can be like, ‘These are techniques that I spent my entire life learning, and I’m just literally going to give it to you for free.’”
