How to level up your videos with YouTube Create

Last year, we announced YouTube Create, a new, free of charge app designed to make video editing for Shorts and longer videos easier, so creators can spend more energy on their craft and creativity.
Since then, we've been working to improve it based on our community's feedback, and today, we’re launching YouTube Create in beta on Android across 13 more countries — from Australia to Brazil and Spain. This will help new and established creators around the world make video creation simpler, easier and more lightweight -- whether you’re sharing a Short of life on the fly or producing a longform video for your community.
Creators like you know that from start to finish, editing can be a painstaking, time consuming, and expensive process, but with YouTube Create, it doesn’t have to be that way. To make sure you get the most out of YouTube Create, we’re breaking down the steps from hitting record to pressing publish.
1. Record right from your phone and pick out clips you want to edit directly in the app.
Picture it: you’re on the hunt for the perfect coffee shop, and you want to take your audience for the ride. When you’re on the go, the last thing you want is heavy and expensive camera gear dragging you down.
Just take out your phone and hit record, capturing footage as you search for the best latte in your neighborhood. Now, you can take those clips and drop them right into YouTube Create to start your editing journey with ease.
2. Set the mood with thousands of royalty-free songs.
We know how much a great soundtrack can set the mood, but finding the right song can be hard. Want some relaxing jazz that perfectly complements that shot you got of the barista making some beautiful latte art? You can search right in the app and choose from thousands of royalty-free songs for the perfect fit.
Because YouTube Create’s music library is royalty-free, that means you can easily monetize and share your creations on YouTube without worrying about copyright claims.
3. Now, match the beat to perfectly time your transitions.
Sometimes it can feel tricky to get your transitions just right, but with beat matching you can easily make cuts matched to the beats of the music.
Just tap ‘Find Beats’ to automatically identify the most compelling beats in the music and mark them on the timeline. This helps you easily match up the clips, so everything is in perfect sync. Your edits will look and sound crisp, without tedious editing.
4. Play with effects, filters, stickers and more to make your video feel unique to you.
There are thousands of stickers and gifs and a large curated set of effects and filters to really make your video pop. Add an animated sticker to show everyone which cup of coffee deserves five stars, or a gif of a cat drinking a cappuccino just for fun.
Plus, Create’s transitions, effects, and filters help you go from one scene to another seamlessly. You can adjust the color, brightness, and saturation so the video looks and feels like your unique style.
5. Too much street noise? Put our Audio Cleanup tool to the test.
Background noise – be it cars honking on the street or the espresso machine grinding beans -- can be a bother. YouTube Create can automatically remove these distracting sounds so your voice is clear and easy to hear. Just tap “Audio Cleanup” and you’re good to go!
6. Bring it all together with voice over and auto captions.
Once you feel good about your edits, use the built-in voice over tool to bring your story to life. With auto captions, you can transcribe and edit captions for your video with just the tap of a button, and pick from a ton of different options to stylize the text.
