Earlier this week, Taylor Swift and YouTube took Swifties on a worldwide scavenger hunt leading into her “THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT” album drop, “Fortnight (feat Post Malone)” music video premiere, and #ForAFortnightChallenge launch on Shorts.
Starting earlier this week, fans across New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, London, Chicago, Mexico City, Berlin, Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, Montreal, Toronto, and São Paulo started to discover bespoke murals around their cities. Each image displayed a QR code that unlocked a YouTube Short with a clue - one letter each - that fans had to collectively unscramble. The ultimate reveal was the phrase - “for a fortnight” - that led to an announcement from Taylor via a YouTube Short confirming the first single on the album would be “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone).”
Directly after the premiere of the official music video, Swift dropped her first Short for the #ForAFortnightChallenge giving viewers 14 little glimpses of her everyday life.
A fortnight is a unit of time equal to 14 days (or nights) and a lot can happen in that amount of time! This challenge is all about sharing your fortnight recap - 14 snippets of your life - in one single Short soundtracked to “Fortnight (feat Post Malone).” The 14 clips from 14 moments can reflect anything users want to share; it's all about having fun and connecting with one another!
Taylor Swift is one of the biggest artists in the world, boasting 57+ million subscribers on her official YouTube channel. She was the #5 most viewed artist in the US on YouTube in 2023 and has earned over 7.4 billion streams on her channel in the last 365 days. As the only artist in history to win 4 “Album of the Year” Grammys, Swift continues to make history time and time again with her music and more.
We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in this new era, a lot can change in a fortnight…#ForAFortnightChallenge, only on YouTube.
