Over the past year, we’ve introduced new features to make tagging easier for creators, have expanded our affiliate program, and more. In 2023, people watched over 30 billion hours of shopping related videos on YouTube, and there was a 25% increase in watch time for videos that help people shop on YouTube!
With spring’s fresh energy comes a wave of new must-have product drops from brands and creators, so as we step into spring shopping season, we’re excited to announce even more updates so viewers can shop for new favorites from the most loved creators. The future of Shopping on YouTube has never been brighter.
Shopping Collections is a new way for creators to curate products from their favorite brands - or even their own line! Pick a selection of products for any theme from your current everyday makeup look to the ultimate capsule wardrobe.
For some inspiration, check out LongHairPrettyNails collection, “Spring Nail Must Haves,” Sydney Morgan’s “Preppy Essentials” that includes some of her favorite skincare and makeup, or can’t miss recommendations for the Sephora Savings Event from Johnny Ross.
Collections will appear in a creator’s product list, Store tab, and video description. At launch, creators can make Collections on the Studio app on their phone, with the feature coming soon to desktop.
We hope Collections helps creators curate their own virtual store on YouTube so people can shop their favorite products and increase earnings!
Who doesn’t love a good deal? We’re launching a new Affiliate Hub directly in the YouTube app so creators can find the latest list of Shopping partners, competitive commission rates, promo codes, and even request samples from top brands.
The Affiliate Hub is making it easier for Shopping creators to find the information to start planning their next shoppable video.
Last year, we launched the ability for affiliate shopping creators to tag products across their videos in bulk based on products creators have added to the description. We’re now expanding this feature to all Shopping creators, so they can tag their own products and merch across their video library!
This can help creators earn more revenue from older content that still gets high traffic.
Finally, we’re adding Fourthwall to our growing list of integrated platforms to make it easier for creators to create and manage their stories directly in YouTube Studio.
We know that people come to YouTube every day to connect with the things and creators they love, so we hope these new YouTube Shopping features make that journey even easier for creators and viewers.
