YouTube’s partnership with international advocacy organization, Global Citizen, continues this weekend on May 8 at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET, with an extended version of “Global Citizen VAX LIVE - Extended Concert Sponsored” by YouTube. This global broadcast and streaming special aims to inspire vaccine confidence worldwide and help get COVID-19 vaccines to everyone, everywhere.
During the special, presented by YouTube Originals, Global Citizen will call on philanthropists and corporations to donate enough “dollars-for-doses” to vaccinate more than 27 million heroic healthcare workers that are serving on the global frontlines, in the world’s poorest countries every day. The special will also encourage global development advocates and changemakers to call on world leaders to prioritize equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
The goal is to educate the public and create awareness surrounding COVID-19 vaccinations in an effort to help the world get back on its feet.”
YouTube and Global Citizen have a long standing history of joining hands to deliver these extraordinary concert events to a global audience. In the past year alone, we have worked together on One World: Together at Home and Global Goal: Unite for Our Future, both of which raised funds for COVID-19 relief. Now, with "Global Citizen VAX LIVE - Extended Concert Sponsored by YouTube" hosted by Selena Gomez, the goal is to educate the public and create awareness surrounding COVID-19 vaccinations in an effort to help the world get back on its feet.
YouTube is the only place to watch the 90-minute version of this star-studded event. Broadcasting on Global Citizen’s official channel, the extended version of the special will include:

A special appearance by President Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Vice President Harris as part of Global Citizen’s partnership with the White House’s “We Can Do This” initiative to increase public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines while reinforcing basic prevention measures, such as mask wearing and social distancing. Additionally, President Macron of France, Prime Minister Trudeau of Canada, and Prime Minister Plenković of Croatia will make appearances.
