Editor’s Note (September 12, 2025, 4:00pm ET): We encountered an internal technical issue where a subset of legitimate views were not categorized as actual views. As a result, the viewership numbers for this game were undercounted. We've revalidated the numbers with Nielsen, after providing them with the updated first party data. This is an unfortunate situation and we'll do better next time. The updated figures are as follows:
On September 5th, the gridiron and the YouTube community collided to make history.
Our first-ever exclusive, global broadcast of an NFL game, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers live from São Paulo, Brazil, was a huge success. It also set a record for most concurrent viewers of a live stream on YouTube. In case you missed it or want to replay the action, the game is available on the NFL YouTube channel.
We partnered with the NFL to bring a uniquely interactive and creator-driven viewing experience. The broadcast featured exclusive content from MrBeast, Haley Kalil, Michelle Khare and Marques Brownlee; commentary from Deestroying from the sidelines; pre-game and post-game hosting from Kay Adams, Peter Overzet and NFL Legends Cam Newton, Derek Carr, Brandon Marshall, and Tyrann Mathieu; a dazzling halftime show from KAROL G; and Watch With streams and commentary from a stacked roster of creators including IShowSpeed, Tom Grossi, Robegrill, SKabeche, CazéTV and many more.
Thank you to all 17 million of you who tuned in for this game-changing moment on YouTube. Happy NFL season!
