In preparation for America’s 250th birthday, we're excited to announce a special partnership with C-SPAN. For decades, C-SPAN has been the go-to source for civic content. And this year, we're joining forces to bring their coverage of the America 250 celebration to millions of people on YouTube and YouTube TV.
Over the next year, C-SPAN will provide comprehensive coverage of official America 250 events happening across the country through livestreams and uploads to YouTube, enabling Americans from every corner of the country to experience the magic of America 250 on every screen where they watch, including the living room.
As part of this celebration, C-SPAN's three channels—C-SPAN, C-SPAN2, and C-SPAN3—will stream on YouTube TV and we are also expanding our partnership to improve C-SPAN's presence on the main YouTube platform, where viewers can access their content for free.
“C-SPAN has long been a vital resource for civic engagement, and we look forward to partnering with them to both expand their footprint on YouTube and to celebrate America 250 together.”
“Through this partnership, Americans will have access to content that showcases the creators and entrepreneurs who are shaping the future, explores American pastimes and music, and takes a look back at the key historical moments that shaped our nation," said Mary Ellen Coe, Chief Business Officer, YouTube.
"In addition to the main YouTube platform, we are excited to bring C-SPAN's unfiltered, unbiased programming to YouTube TV’s growing streaming audience," said Sam Feist, CEO, C-SPAN. "For nearly half a century, C-SPAN has partnered with cable and satellite providers who recognize the value of our important public service. We now look forward to working closely with YouTube to bring C-SPAN's unfiltered coverage of the democratic process to millions more Americans.”
We’ll have more details to share in the coming weeks about where and how fans can watch and participate.
