5 things to look forward to in YouTube’s global New Year’s Eve celebration

YouTube Originals will kick off the New Year with a virtual worldwide celebration called “Hello 2021.” This five-part special premieres Thursday, December 31 in the Americas, United Kingdom, Korea, Japan and India - only on YouTube.

YouTube Originals will kick off the New Year with a monumental and uplifting worldwide celebration by chasing midnight around the globe with “Hello 2021,” a virtual New Year’s Eve event. It brings together 2020’s most influential public figures, music artists and YouTube creators. This five-part special  premieres Thursday, December 31 in the Americas, United Kingdom, Korea, Japan and India - only on YouTube.


Through inspiring speeches, live musical performances, comedic moments, dance parties and more, “Hello 2021” will keep viewers from across the globe energized throughout the countdown to midnight. YouTube will provide viewers around the world with localized and unique celebrations to ring in the new year from home.


Here are five things we are excited for:

1. 'Hello 2021: Japan'

Top Japanese creators (totalling over 20M subscribers) compete against each other in a 2020 trend-themed quiz show! Join this never-before-seen special edition quiz, produced by QuizKnock, to test your knowledge on 2020 YouTube trends and trivia with top creators. And make sure to find out who will become the trivia king of 2020 YouTube Japan!


Korea

2. 'Hello 2021: Korea'


Top and rising creators and artists in South Korea will join in an intercommunity roadshow by sharing tteok (traditional rice cake) to recognize and thank creators and artists who helped Korean audiences to stay happy and healthy during the unprecedented year

3. 'Hello 2021: India'


Bollywood star Tiger Shroff performs the finale dance sequence -- featuring his biggest hits -- at the iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (CST) railway station in Mumbai. Shroff will be joined by internationally renowned hip-hop dance act, Kings United, too. 


4. 'Hello 2021: UK'

We’re winding down the show with one of the most popular British tunes for UK audiences in 2020! British rap superstars Aitch & AJ Tracey will perform “Rain.”

Superstar Demi Lovato helps us eliminate the bad vibes of 2020 from within! Demi takes us into the New Year through her own guided meditation. Namaste!
