Block party: celebrating YouTube’s Roblox community

YouTube launches Roblox Museum to mark 1 Trillion views

In the early 2000s, within just a year of each other, both YouTube and Roblox were founded. This timing led to a notable relationship between the two: Since its early days, creators have used Roblox as a kind of creative studio, combining video and game mechanics to push the boundaries of self-expression and storytelling.

Now, YouTube’s Roblox community is hitting a major milestone: Videos related to Roblox have surpassed 1 trillion views.*

To honor the incredible creativity of the community, we're kicking off an all-out Block Party! Here’s 4 ways that you can join the fun.

A Roblox character stands inside the virtual YouTube Roblox Museum. In front of them is a giant, golden award statue on a red carpet with a sash that reads "1,000,000,000,000 VIEWS" to celebrate the community's milestone.

1. Step inside our museum

Of course, no celebration would be complete without an in-game experience. That’s why we’re launching YouTube’s Roblox Museum, a virtual space where anyone can go to visit over 100 special relics, each representing a key creator moment from over the years. Take part in the scavenger hunt to score the exclusive item that awaits the winners.

2. Get an exclusive tour (& merch!)

For a preview of the exhibit, we enlisted @Lanaslifeee and @MeEnyu to serve as tour guides. Watch their exploration here, and visit YouTube’s Merch Store to shop an IRL version of the scavenger hunt prize.

A person uses the "Roblox Vault" effect in YouTube Shorts, which overlays a digital Roblox cube with a white "R" logo over their nose. The official Roblox logo is visible at the top of the screen.

3. Try a new Shorts effect

If you’re looking to create videos of your own, don’t miss the Roblox Vault effect in Shorts. This effect allows creators to wear different iconic Roblox heads based on how fast they can tap the Roblox cube! The faster they tap, the rarer the head they get to show off.

To try it out:

  • From the YouTube app, tap “Create” > “Create a Short”
  • Select “effects” > Choose the “Roblox Vault” effect from the “All” category
  • Tap the Roblox cube to increase your rarity (the faster you tap, the rarer the head)
  • Create a Short including your Roblox head > Share it with your community!

4. Spot the celebratory Yoodle

To recognize the community’s achievement, we’re launching a special version of the YouTube logo (known as the Yoodle). Head to the YouTube homepage today and you’ll find the animation, including some familiar faces, and an accompanying playlist full of iconic moments.
