That’s the question at the center of our new video, where the world’s biggest creator, Jimmy Donaldson (“MrBeast”), imagines adding a 54th roster spot to every team exclusively for YouTube creators. He’s joined on screen by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and a stadium-sized roster of creators—including Dude Perfect, Sketch, Valkyrae, Adam W, IShowSpeed, Haley Kalil, Ben Azelart, Hannah Stocking, Clix, Celine Dept and Brooke Monk – who collectively reach nearly 695 million subscribers on YouTube.
“We’re at this culture changing moment in entertainment and with the first live NFL game broadcasting on YouTube for free this Friday, we're showing the world that the most engaging way to experience sports is with the creators you love.”

While he hasn't actually bought the league, the video kicks off something just as exciting: This Friday, September 5, we are teaming up with the NFL to stream our first-ever exclusive live game. The Week 1 matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs will stream free to fans around the world, live from São Paulo, Brazil, only on YouTube.
“Go big or go home, so for this one, I figured why not just buy the entire NFL?,” said Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast. “Filming with Roger Goodell and bringing together the NFL and their global fans with some of the best creators on YouTube was an incredible experience. We’re at this culture changing moment in entertainment and with the first live NFL game broadcasting on YouTube for free this Friday, we're showing the world that the most engaging way to experience sports is with the creators you love."
For a truly unique viewing experience, fans can also tune into alternate live streams hosted by their favorite creators in addition to the broadcast. Viewers can join “Watch With” parties featuring live commentary from IShowSpeed and Tom Grossi in English, or Robegrill and SKabeche in Spanish, for comedic hot takes and play-by-play analysis on their respective channels. Creator CazéTV will also host their own broadcast live from Arena Corinthians for Portuguese viewers.
Coverage begins with YouTube’s pre-game show at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET, with the game kicking off at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET.
By embedding creators at the center of the action—from sideline reporting and “Watch With” livestreams to debuting original content—YouTube is crafting a dynamic, interactive and immersive event that will transform the broadcast into a global cultural moment.
