The ultimate BookTube reading list

To help you get caught up, we pulled together the ultimate BookTube community reading list, based on some of the most viewed and uploaded book titles in BookTube related videos.

Sometimes you need to find someone who shares your take on the latest beach read. Other times, you’re looking for a reading recommendation from someone with the same taste. Whatever the case may be, the BookTube community has made finding a fellow book lover easy.

For over a decade, readers have come to YouTube to take part in the BookTube community, a collaborative group of passionate literary creators who love nothing more than to discuss and dissect the latest hardback. From the community’s foundations in young adult literature (The Fault in Our Stars, anyone?), to its love of mysteries, BookTube creators have explored a seemingly limitless range of genres, voices, and trends. Silent reviews, reading sprints, hauls, and bookshelf tours are just a small sampling of the ways the community has expanded the definition of a book club online. In the first six months of 2024, there were more than 350 million views of videos with “BookTube” in the title on YouTube.1

In recognition of the many reading recommendations BookTube creators have provided over the years, we’re taking today, the start of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, to celebrate the community. Head to YouTube and you’ll find a special, animated version of the YouTube logo (known as the Yoodle).
