How would you describe your channel in one sentence?

My channel follows my journey as a curly-haired entrepreneur, inspiring people to love their curls, be authentic and follow their dreams.

Which video are you most proud of, and why does it hold a special place for you?

My proudest video is a Short titled, "I was destined to be a small business owner". This one holds a special place in my heart because it is a full circle moment about my heritage and entrepreneurial journey. The video talks about how my grandmother and mother were both seamstresses and small business owners in the Dominican Republic. Since I was born in the United States, I did not know about this until I was much older and began my own sewing-related small business. Now I am not only living my dream of being a small business owner, but also keeping the tradition of sewing in my family.

In what ways—big or small—does your cultural background show up in the content you create?

It shows up in just about everything I do. The stories I share, the products that I make, the language I speak. The name of one of the products from my business that I showcase on my YouTube channel "The Afrona", is a combination of English (afro) and spanish (corona). Plus, I often visit my family's native Dominican Republic and share about my time there.

What's the ultimate dream or long-term vision for your channel?

My ultimate goal with the channel is to help people feel confident being who they are. A lot of my content is centered around my business journey and loving your curly hair, but moving forward, I'd like to create more content around self-love. I believe that when you love yourself from the inside, you'll naturally love the parts of you that make you different, like your hair and heritage. This was true for me and it's what I would like from my channel long-term. Oh yes, and upload more long-form videos!
