What inspired your passion for sustainability and taking care of our planet?

Prajakta Koli / @MostlySane: My audience has been a huge inspiration to keep doing the work and being a part of this conversation. Also a huge shoutout to YouTube and UNDP for giving me platforms where I can learn about sustainability and climate action and eco friendliness as well as have a platform to speak at.

Jacob Beautemps / @BreakingLab: My passion for sustainability on the one hand is driven by the fact that it is probably the most important topic of our time. But for me, it is even more. I enjoy discovering new technologies that make our Earth better. These innovations promise a future where our environment is not only healthier but also greener and more natural - who wouldn't like that?

Storytelling has a unique ability to inspire, educate, and mobilize people towards action. It allows us to imagine and build a new world, one where sustainability and environmental stewardship are at the forefront of our collective consciousness.”

Can you share a few sustainable choices people can make in their everyday lives that have an impact?

Jacob Beautemps / @BreakingLab: First, choosing locally sourced food reduces the carbon footprint and supports the local economy, fostering a closer relationship with our food sources. Second, minimizing food waste is crucial. With about one-third of global food production wasted, often at the consumer level, simple measures like meal planning and using leftovers can significantly reduce this waste. Educating friends and family about sustainable practices can lead to a ripple effect, encouraging broader adoption of eco-friendly behaviors.

Alice Aedy / @Earthrise.Studio: Whether they're at the local council level or on a national scale, it's essential to actively engage in the democratic process and have your voice heard. Voter numbers are declining, especially in younger people, skewing policymaking in favor of older generations, so we all need to get to the ballot boxes and bring our friends!

Simon Clark / @SimonClark: The largest impacts you can have as an individual are: better insulating your home, reducing the amount of meat and animal products you consume, and reducing the amount that you travel long-distance.

What climate solutions are you most excited about?

Simon Clark / @SimonClark: The climate solution I'm most optimistic about is the exponential rollout of solar and wind energy in recent years. A tidal wave of cheap, clean electricity is coming, and in a decade or two I believe the world of energy will look very different. I'm also very excited about e-bikes - they're a great way to improve urban mobility, have a miniscule carbon footprint, and most importantly are great fun to use!

Jacob Beautemps / @BreakingLab: The rapid advancements in energy production technology are particularly exciting and offer a beacon of optimism in our fight against climate change. These innovations are not just pivotal because they pave the way for more sustainable energy solutions; they also have the potential to reduce the cost of energy production significantly.

Alice Aedy / @Earthrise.Studio: One of the climate change solutions that excites me the most is the power of storytelling and community. Storytelling has a unique ability to inspire, educate, and mobilize people towards action. It allows us to imagine and build a new world, one where sustainability and environmental stewardship are at the forefront of our collective consciousness. Through compelling narratives and multimedia content, we can engage audiences in meaningful conversations about climate change and empower them to become agents of positive change.
